
In response to a request from the Royal Government of Cambodia and with a view to promoting the socio-economic development of the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Government of Japan has agreed to extend a Grant Aid of up to eight hundred ninety-three million Japanese Yen (¥893,000,000), equivalent to about eight million US dollars, to the Royal Government of Cambodia for the purpose of implementing of the “Project for Expansion of Distribution Lines in Southern Economic Corridor”.
Notes to this effect were exchanged between H.E. Mr. PRAK Sokhonn, Senior Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and H.E. Mr. KUMAMARU Yuji, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kingdom of Cambodia, on August 31, 2016 at 2:30 pm at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
In this project, new distribution lines will be installed to improve the stability of electricity supply in 3 provinces; Svay Rieng, Koh Kong and Banteay Meanchey. This Grant Aid has been extended by the Government of Japan to the Royal Government of Cambodia with a view to further strengthening the cordial and cooperative relations between the two countries.
