Thank Smart-Axiata CEO Thomas Hundt — sponsorship of TOP 100 contest and Echelon Summit in June in Singapore. Also Forte Insurance.

Thank MPTC Secretary of State Kan Chanmeta and NIPTICT president Seng Sopheap for their leadership in supporting Cambodia’s start-up sector.

Thank e27 representatives, Mohan and Claudia, for bringing this event to Cambodia and for putting together a terrific platform for technology companies to showcase their products and to network with each other across the region.

Thank Geeks in Cambodia team (Adrienne, Roman and others) for being a fantastic local implementer on the ground.

Thank AmCham’s Chanda Pen and Chris McCarthy for cooperating with us on hosting this event.

Acknowledge the many members of Cambodia’s broader tech community who have come together to celebrate this event and who are helping put Cambodian on the map as an emerging market for technology talent.
This event is a good example of what can be achieved by private sector and government working together towards a common goal.

Small countries need to work a little harder for success, and to work a little harder to find their niche. But they also can make things happen more quickly than bigger countries.

TOP 100 contest: Sixth year, but first time Cambodia has participated – it will give Cambodian tech companies a chance to meet and compete with their regional counterparts, meet investors, and large tech companies in Singapore.

Win or lose, everyone will gain valuable experience from this event. Need to organize a get-together afterwards to share experiences. Chanda/Chris!

The Echelon Summit is an opportunity to put Cambodia’s tech sector on the map – everyone here will be an ambassador for Cambodia’s tech sector in June – encourage people to make the most of it.

We hope to help set up a program for participants with the U.S. technology sector, such as Microsoft, Facebook, Google and some of the American VC firms.

The Ministry, Smart and the U.S. Embassy are also working together on a tech report that will support our common goal of raising international awareness of Cambodia’s tech sector and we hope a preliminary version will be available in time for the summit.
That’s enough from me. Again, thank you to Smart, MPTC, AmCham, and e27 for their hard work on this. Congratulations again to the winners as well.

Please enjoy yourself and I encourage you to take the opportunity to network up a storm! Have fun!
