The government has decided to give out payments to the employees of nine factories whose bosses have abandoned them and the factories without paying the workers their due money.

The Labour Ministry announced on Friday, June 1, that Prime Minister Hun Sen has agreed to provide funds to pay those employees who have received neither the wages nor the salaries they are entitled to.

The personnel of five factories in Phnom Penh, one in Kandal, and three in Kampong Speu are affected by the actions of the lamming leaders, but the ministry made no mention of how many employees are affected, or how much money is owed them.

The ministry appealed to the former employees of the Keo Vy factory in Kampong Speu to get their money themselves at the Kampong Speu Provincial Labour Department from June 7 to 15. They must bring proper employment documentation included their company ID card and wage or pay slip.
