We are delighted to announce that the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will be working together with Global Initiatives, as co-organisers for the 5th annual Responsible Business Forum on Sustainable Development, held once again at Marina Bay Sands Singapore, 22 - 24 November 2016.
This is a truly exciting partnership that will bring together more than 600 leaders from business, government, UN agencies and NGOs, all working towards the goal of realising the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. UNDP is uniquely placed to facilitate an integrated process to accelerate and support the implementation of the SDGs.
“As the global community moves forward to deliver a comprehensive and ambitious global development agenda that leaves no one behind, we must forge a strong collaboration with the private sector and other partners to support governments in achieving Agenda 2030 and the SDGs” says Michelle Gyles-McDonnough, UN Resident Coordinator in Malaysia for UNDP.
Facilitating strong and long-lasting collaboration and partnerships is at the very heart of RBF 2016. This year’s event will allow companies to identify the SDGs most critical to their organisations, and understand the opportunities that exist to support governments to achieve them. This is vital if we are to end poverty, protect and restore our planet, and ensure equality and prosperity for all.
Under the theme ‘Innovation and collaboration to deliver the global goals’, this year’s Responsible Business Forum will examine each of the UN Sustainable Development Goals in depth with case studies and perspectives from businesses, governments, UN agencies and international experts.
Senior government officials from around the Asia Pacific region will provide perspectives from their countries across each of the 17 SDGs and case studies will presented by more than 50 companies.
