The inauguration of a suspension bridge took place on Thirthday in Sok San commune, Koh Nhek district, Modulkiri province with the presence of local government officials and the provincial governor, Mr. Svay Sam Eang.

A local online newspaper reported that the bridge is 82 meters long, 1.8 meters wide, with a concrete foundation. The construction of the bridge cost $21,000. It was the money from different companies and donors; the rest of the money was from Governor Svay Sam Eang own pocket.

Mr. Seat Kimsan, school principal of Keo Rapeo primary school situated near the bridge, told reporters that the bridge could help ethnic minority student not to drop school as they did before.

The construction of the bridge came to life after a number of local newspapers reported that the lack of a bridge crossing the creek in Sok San commune, cost a lot of money and was very dangerous for ethnic minority students and villagers to go to school or downtown by crossing the creek by raft.
