Japan-Cambodia Kizuna Festival 2017 is scheduled to be held next week, from February 23 to February 26, at the Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Center (CJCC) with the theme of "Fly to Japan."
To promote this joyful event, on Wednesday, the Embassy of Japan in Cambodia has been organizing an outreach program at Wat Koh High School in order to explain to students about Japan and the Kizuna festival.
According to CJCC, this festival is the biggest event for CJCC and the Embassy of Japan to introduce Japanese traditional and modern culture to Cambodian people. It aims also to promote cultural exchange between the two countries. On the other hand, this event is also an occasion for CJCC to celebrate the anniversary of the establishment of CJCC in Cambodia.
During these three days, there will be numerous dances and shows such as "TEMPURA KIDZ Performance", a new generation dance and vocal group; "Tokiko Kato Concert" conducted by Ms. Tokiko Kato who is a famous singer in Japan; "Cosplay Show" and "YUKATA Contest".
Since 10 years, CJCC has contributed to the development of human resource in Cambodia by doing training for many Cambodians in the field of business, Japanese language, and career development so that they become skillful workforce to help to end poverty in the kingdom.
CJCC is supported by the government of Japan represented by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Japan Foundation (JF).
According to the Embassy of Japan in Cambodia, in 2016, there were 24 million tourists coming to visit Japan. This number could increase to 40 million in 2020 when the Olympic Games will be held in Tokyo. As a result, the knowledge of Japan and Japanese culture in other countries is significant for Japan to become the country of tourist attraction.
