
According to The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), from 1994 to 2016, 140 Singapore's investment projects, with the total amount of $956 million, have been approved by CDC. Separately, in 2016 alone, CDC approved seven major Singaporean investment projects in the field of telecommunication, drinking water, rubber refinery, garment factory, and in the field of energy. The total amount of money for the investments is $104 million.
Sok Chenda Sophea, Secretary General of the CDC, on Tuesday, told Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry delegation that to compete with other countries in the region, and to grasp the golden opportunity from regional and global value chain, Cambodia is committing to successfully implement its Industrial Development Policy 2015-2025 for the future.
He added that the CDC, in close cooperation with the Embassy of Singapore in Cambodia, is working to attract more and more investors from Singapore to come to invest in the kingdom.
In response, Lorent Ing, president of the delegation, said that he would also convince more Singaporean investors to come to invest in Cambodia in order to strengthen friendship between the two nations.
The Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI) is a business chamber in Singapore. As of 2016, SCCCI has a membership of more than 4,000 companies and over 150 trade associations in Singapore.
