The Ministry of Interior, on Friday, filed a complaint to the Supreme Court in order to ask the court to dissolve the opposition party CNRP, following the requests made by two other political parties - Funcinpec Party and Cambodian Youth Party.

In the complaint, the ministry said that they have enough evidence to prove that the CNRP has secretly worked with foreigners to prepare a color revolution in a view to topple the current elected government.

Concerning this lawsuit, Attorney Hong Kimsourn told Radio Free Asia (RFA) that the dissolution of the CNRP is impossible, because the new law allowing the dissolution of political party came into force only after the alleged conspiracy told by Mr. Kem Sokha himself took place.

As for Attorney Sek Sophorn, he also told RFA that the dissolution of the CNRP would not possible, because Mr. Sokha is only being sued for «treason», the court did not accuse him yet. So, he is still innocent.

Mr. Kem Sokha, a well-known opposition leader, was arrested on September 3 early morning around midnight at his house in Phnom Penh following a video clip posted on the Internet for which Prime Minister Hun Sen has accused Mr. Sokha for treason.
