Attorney Sam Sokong, one of the eight lawyers defending Mr. Kem Sokha, told a local online newspaper on Monday that they met with Mr. Kem Sokha, president of the opposition party CNRP, in the same day at the prison Trapang Phlong in Tbomh Khmum province. But, Mr. Sokha did not say anything regarding the recent lawsuit filed by the Ministry of Interior to dissolve the CNRP.

Attorney Sokong added that instead, Mr. Sokha discussed with them about the lawsuit against himself - they discussed about legal procedures and the development of the case.

Mr. Sokong also said that prior to their visit on Monday, Mr. Sokha did not know at all about the lawsuit for the dissolution of the CNRP due to the fact that Mr. Sokha was not allowed to listen to radio or to have a smartphone with him in the prison.

However, on Monday, Mr. Sokong and other defense lawyers sent a letter to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court asking the court to transfer Mr. sokha to PJ Prison in Phnom Penh for them to easily discuss with Mr. Sokha about his case.

Mr. Sokha was arrested and charged for treason. Following the arrest, two political parties - Funcinpec and Youth Party - filed two different complaints to the Ministry of Interior asking for the dissolution the CNRP party.
