According to the Cambodian Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), the People's Republic of China has agreed to donate 40 mobile clinics and 1500 biogas plants to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
A memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the donation was signed on Thursday by Mr. Vongsey Vissoth, secretary of state of the MEF, and Mr. Wang Bingnan, deputy minister of the Chinese ministry of commerce.
In its press release, the MEF stated that the 40 mobile clinics would be distributed to the 25 provinces and municipalities all over the country in a view to make health service closer to Cambodian people living in remote area.
As for the 1500 biogas plants, they would be only distributed to seven provinces - Tbong Khmum, Kampong Chhnang, Prey Veng, Svay Rieng, Kampong Cham, and Pursat. The aim of the plants are to help Cambodian farmers transform their animal manure to cooking gas and fertilizer used to increase the yield of their crop.
