Japan provides $430,000 as grant for the development in Cambodia

The government of Japan provided $430,000 to the Cambodian government as grant for the development of irrigation system and food security in the country.

The signing ceremony for the grant took place on Friday at the Embassy of Japan in Phnom Penh in the presence of Mr. Hidehisa HORINOUCHI, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia, and representatives from three institutions in the kingdom.

During the signing ceremony, Ambassador HORINOUCHI said that the grant was provided for three different projects - $89,351 for the renovation of the irrigation system in Kandeang district, Pursat province; $83,370 for the renovation of the irrigation system in Kapau district, Pursat province; and $258,111 for the improvement of agriculture in Kampong Chnang province to ensure food security in the province.
