The Government of Japan planned to donate 140 buses to Cambodia in view to help the country ease the problem of traffic congestion in the capital Phnom Penh.
Mr. Met Measpheakdey, spokesman for Phnom Penh City Hall, told reporters on Friday that the government of Japan kindly wanted to donate 140 modern buses to Cambodia. The buses would be sent step by step. For the first step, 80 buses would directly sent from Japan. The rest of them would be sent later.
"The buses will be sent step by step. For the first step, 80 buses would be sent to Cambodia in April or May. This donation is to strengthen friendship between the two countries," said Mr. Measpheakdey.
He added that so far, the City Hall had 157 buses in use; 100 of which was donated by the People's Republic of China.
