CPP's policies for the upcoming commune election

Recently, the ruling party (CPP) unveiled their 13 policies for their commune chiefs to disseminate to the people during the upcoming commune election campaign that will take place on May 20.

According to those policies, each commune will receive financial resource not less than 2.8 percent of the national budget. Farmers will be supported by the CPP in order to find markets for their agricultural products with reasonable price.

The CPP will continue to help farmers by imposing cap of interest rate to microfinance institutions. Regarding farmers who do not have or have not enough land, the CPP will provide them social concessional land to built their house on it and/or to cultivate their crop.

On the other hand, all administrative papers at commune level will be issued for villagers with free of charge, including birth certificate, marriage certificate, death certificate, family book, resident book, and citizenship ID card.

Cambodian people will also receive better health service with free of charge at public health centers and public hospitals nationwide. Each commune will have at least one middle school, and each district will have at least one high school.

Moreover, irrigation system will be established in each commune so that villagers will have enough water in their daily life. Villagers will also be able to connect to the national power grid which could provide them electricity with cheaper price of 610 riel per kwh for the use of less than 10 kwh per month, and for community's use at night to water their plant.

Villages and cities will be connected with each other by new roads. The existing roads will be upgraded to the roads covered with bitumen or concrete. As for communes situated at the border, their security will be furthermore secured in a view to let villagers live in peace, prosperity, friendship, and cooperation with neighboring countries.

Regarding vendors selling goods in markets built on public land, they could transfer their ownership to their children, grand children, or other people with no time limited.

By implementing the policy of "safe commune", commune's safety was improved in the past. As a result, this policy will continue to be strengthened, and new measures will be added. As for units [organizations] achieving good results concerning this issue, they will be encouraged to keep doing so, while failure and incompetence will be punished.
