The groundbreaking of a new bridge crossing Tonle Sap River took place on Monday with the presence of Prime Minister Hun Sen.
According to Phnom Penh City Hall, the bridge would connect the National Road 5 in Russey Keo District to the National 6 in Chroy Changva District. The length of the bridge would be 922 meters, its width would be 20.5 meters.
It was Overseas Cambodia Investment Corporation who won the contract to build the bridge that would cost $35 million, and 24 months would be needed for the construction of the bridge.
The bridge would be the 5th among other four bridges crossing Tonle Sap River already built - Prek Kdam Bridge, Prek Pnov Bridge, and the twin Chroy Changva Bridges.
