In response to Mr. Sam Rainsy, Mr. Sok Eysan, spokesman for the ruling party CPP, told reporters on Sunday that what Mr. Rainsy said was nonsense or useless.
"I couldn't perceive Mr. Rainsy's feeling, because what he said was only his useless imagination. Nobody interests in his unfounded claim. Neither, I don't know how Mr. Rainsy could rejoin the CNRP due to the fact that he already quitted the party," said Mr. Eysan.
On Sunday, in his speech to the opposition party CNRP's supporters in Long Beach, California, USA, Mr. Rainsy said that although the CNRP would be dissolved or not, he would rejoin the CNRP on November 16 - the date chosen by the Supreme Court for the hearing relating to the CNRP dissolution.
"On November 16, whether the CNRP will be dissolved or not, I will rejoin the CNRP," said Mr. Rainsy.
He added that the reason he forced himself to resign from the CNRP's presidential function was to avoid being charged by the new law on political parties amended by the ruling party CPP alone.
However, in an interview with Radio Free Asia (RFA), Mr. Rainsy argued that whether the CNRP would be dissolved or not, he already had a flexible plan to follow.
"We don't want to tell [about the plan] anybody in advance; but we still have our own way to walk through no matter the situation is; [...]," added Mr. Rainsy.
Previously, Mr. Rainsy used to say that the CNRP would not be dissolved due the fact that the international community put a lot of pressure on the ruling party CPP.
In contrast, Prime Minister Hun Sen previously expressed a strong confidence that the CNRP would be dissolved. He even bets his life on the CNRP's dissolution.
