In a side event meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on Sunday during the 31st Asean Summit in Manila, Prime Minister Hun Sen signed an agreement with Russia in order to let Russian government fund the reparation of the Russian Hospital in Cambodia.

Besides the reparation of the hospital, the premier also raised the issue of the debt Cambodia owes to Russia in the past, and also the issue of a possible direct flight from Russia to Cambodia's Sihanoukville.

Concerning the debt, Russian prime minister said his government would create a commission to discuss this matter with Cambodian counterpart.

On the other hand, Mr. Medvedev said that the Kingdom of Cambodia was one of Russia's old and close friends. And Cambodia would always continue to maintain its political stability. No foreign country could interfere in Cambodian internal affairs. For this matter, Russia would provide assistance and send its observers for the upcoming Cambodian general election in July 2018.
