Cambodia and Laos have agreed to implant other 145 border posts in the border dispute zone between the two countries. The agreement was settled by Prime Minister Hun Sen and Laotian counterpart Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith in a side event meeting on the occasion of the 31st Asean Summit in Manila on Sunday.

According to Prime Minister Hun Sen's Facebook page, during the side event meeting, the prime ministers of the two countries also agreed to let French border experts to work with Cambodian and Laotian counterparts to demarcate the rest of the border between Cambodia and Laos.

Regarding the map used for border demarcation, Cambodian and Laos agreed to use the 1:50,000 scale map instead of 1:100,000 scale map.

"France provide us the 1:100,000 scale map. But that map could not be used for the demarcation. We have to use the 1:50,000 instead," said Prime Minister Hun Sen.

In August, a border problem happened between the two countries due to the fact that Laotian armed forces came to camp in O Alay and O Tagnav checkpoints in Steung Treng Province claiming that the checkpoints were still unclear to which country they belong to. But they widrew later after a negotiation took place between the prime ministers of the two countries.
