Cambodia and Czech Republic to strengthen parliamentarian ties

The Kingdom of Cambodia and Czech Republic have agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperations in the field of parliamentary.

In a meeting with Mr. Ivo Barek, vice president of the Senate of the Czech Republic, on Wednesday, Mr. Say Chhom, president of Cambodia's Senate, said that to strengthen the diplomatic relations between the two countries, a series of state visit would be organized in order to send senators to visit the senate in both countries and to share their experiences with each other in the field of law, socio-economy, trade, healthcare, education, culture, politics, and administration.

According to the Cambodian ministry of foreign affairs, the diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Czech Republic was first established in May 1956. In 2016, the volume of trade between the two countries reached $170 million. And so far, around 700 Cambodian students have received scholarship from Czech government to go to study in Czech Republic.
