"Enterprises of any kind and professionals such as lawyers, bailiffs, and notaries who need to recruit staff to work in their profession must appeal to Cambodians as a first priority," read Article 263 of the Cambodian Labor Law.
The Cambodian Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training on Thursday, has ordered NGOs and companies employing alien staff to file their employment authorization form to the ministry via the Internet before the end of November 2017.
Clearly, the ministry said that factories, enterprises, and all institutions employing alien labor in Cambodia have the duty to fill the forms applying for work permit, employment book, and the renewal of work permit for their alien employee(s) for the year 2018.
The ministry also emphasized on the fact that if employers in those companies and NGOs fail to do so, the ministry will use legal measures against them as mentioning in Chapter 16 of the Cambodian Labor Law.
